Chira Schouten
As Conservation Director for The Nature Conservancy’s Africa region, Chira provides strategic leadership and management to a growing program of over 180 staff working in nine African countries and the United States. She oversees TNC’s conservation actions across terrestrial, freshwater, and ocean ecosystems and coordinates with a range of partners to ensure that ambitious conservation goals are met. Focused on community led conservation and a rights-based approach, sustainable finance, rigorous science and practical solutions, and collaboration.
