Elizeth Goncalves
ELIZETH GONÇALVES, TNC Okavango Program Manager Elizeth was born in Luanda, Angola and she is the TNC’s first staff member in Angola. Elizeth received a Master’s Degree in Environment and Development: Protected Areas Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Republic of South Africa, and BSc Honours in Biology, from Agostinho Neto University, Republic of Angola. She’s been with TNC since December 2019 and brings along 12 years of experience working with the Ministry of Environment in Angola while also being a lecturer in conservation at Agostinho Neto University. At TNC, Elizeth has played a major role in developing partnerships with the government, civil society, and local communities for the effective implementation of TNC’s Source Water Protection Strategy in the Angolan portion of the Okavango Basin. Currently, she’s strongly focused on implementing robust and replicable community-based freshwater conservation approaches in partnership with local NGOs and communities.
