I have over 10 years working experience on environmental conservation, community development and governance in natural resource management. Am currently the Regional Director for NRT- Coastal program in North Coast Kenya providing overall leadership and strategy as well as building partnership and fundraising, programme coordination, community conservancies governance and reporting. Over the last 10 years: i) I supported Adoption of the community conservancy model into a marine context including fisheries co-management; ii) Strengthened management of mangrove forest in Lamu -Tana seascape; iii) Supported replacement of at least 69% illegal and destructive beach seine nets operating within Kiunga Marine National Reserve; v) I have facilitated the development of Management and Community Development Plan for six coastal community conservancies all of which are currently under implementation.
