Kendi Borona

Kendi is a conservation professional with 15 years of experience in diverse landscapes. She is a firm believer in the application of Indigenous Knowledge in the furtherance of just conservation, land justice and self-determined community livelihoods. She has had the privilege of working with and learning from Indigenous Peoples and Local communities in Africa, Canada, and Australia. Their individual and collective philosophies have influenced her thinking on conservation thought and practice. She believes that conservation in Africa has remained acutely colonial and is in need of systematic decolonization.
