Makko Sinandei

Makko Sinandei; was born and raised in a local Arash village in Arusha Region – Tanzania. He is a social and environmental professional, with a special focus on indigenous pastoralists and Hunter-gathers livelihood and natural resources. He currently working to support the pastoralist and Hunter-gathers community for the last 20 years. He is a professional development facilitator & trainer on community-led development; Land use planning and natural resources management. Makko has dealt with issues of land rights and holistic rangeland resource management, community leadership, and development. He works with the community to influence favorable policies and laws to safeguard the indigenous pastoralists’ land and natural resource rights. Makko has been working as a community development facilitator for over 15 years, to facilitate rural development, especially in the areas of project design & development; Public awareness; community motivation in Development, Integrated Land use Planning, community-Based tourism, Customary leadership and capacity building for empowerment, community-Based Natural Resources Planning and Management (CBRNM) and conflict resolution. Makko is a founder and he currently working as a senior advisor and program coordinator for Ujamaa-Community Resource Team.
