Basilia Andoroone Shivute
Basilia, a native of a rural village in northern Namibia, developed a strong sense of community and practiced a subsistence lifestyle during her humble upbringing. Since joining IRDNC in 2013, she has become the Senior Operations Manager for Kunene, leading a dedicated team that supports about 30 CBOs in rural northwest Namibia. As an African woman leader, Basilia is passionate about driving effective African Conservation Leadership, empowering women and youth, promoting rural development, and wildlife-based livelihoods. She holds two master's degrees—a MSc. in Biodiversity Management and Research and an MBA. Basilia is an alumnus of the ACLN and a member of the WE Africa 2023 cohort.
