Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka
Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka is Founder and CEO of a 20-year-old award-winning NGO, Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH). In 2015, she founded Gorilla Conservation Coffee to support farmers living around gorilla habitats. An Ashoka Fellow, Mulago Foundation Henry Arnhold Fellow and National Geographic Explorer, she won 2021 UNEP Champion of the Earth Award - Science and Innovation, 2022 Edinburgh Medal, 2022 Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize, and is African Primatological Society Vice President and on Women for the Environment - Africa leadership council. In 2023, she published a memoir “Walking with Gorillas,” about her conservation and leadership journey shaped by One Health.
